From Snowtopia to Icehenge!!! (and new mittens!)

Look look I finished knitting something that fits and I love! Yay, these are the Fletcher Mittens and I made them with some awesome Mushishi yarn to match my pom pom hat I made awhile back. I love them, did I mention that yet? They fit great and are nice and warm, so I wear them every day right now!

Not surprising to see more snow pics, but I had these from a couple storms ago this year, so here you go!

Yup we put those giant icicles to good use in our little ice garden we call Icehenge. It continues to grow due to that little ice storm we had the other day. Man those were some serious icicles we had going on, much bigger than in my pics here but alas I was not out photographizing that day. Makes ya feel like some hot cocoa doesn't it? And of course I have not had one decent cup this whole season. it might be time this weekend to whip some up at long last, ok off to buy me some marshmellows!

For Cold Hands!

So I am taking a shot at knitting again. I never really stopped but I have barely been knitting, and certainly not focused on finishing anything for some time now. So of course now I have hit knitting trauma, everything I have tried to pick up I could not remember where I was, and things I start anew seem to go all wrong. But soon I will have a new finished project that I can wear and will wear all the time. That will be the fletcher mittens I am working on.

But for now I am showing you my really pretty and yet totally going to rip out fingerless gloves. I got the yarn and started them while visiting Carolyn and all seemed pretty good, but then they were loose so I have already ripped back once. I just can not stand how it feels to have such a long glove on my arm, so I know I will never wear them, plus it is a bit too big at the wrist which is fine if it were loose all over but just there it will make my OCD go into overdrive so I can not have that. But here is a shot of them before they are gone forever :)

This year we decided to make a whole gingerbread village including a giant train!

This year I made up some halloween frozen treats, soap, and we actually carved pumpkins again!

The carmel apple ones were awesome!!! I like the candy corn too but I used coconut flavor instead of vanilla just wished I added more orange juice to make it tastier.

We did the Nightmare Before Christmas this year, since we still had some Christmas lights up, turned them on and stuck the pumpkins outside :) Hope everyone had a safe and happy one!

Got there a bit early this year see how empty it is...we did not stay the full day but at least we got to check out these pumpkins!!!!

Belated Father's Day Recap

So this Father's Day I was inspired to make these cute little burgers and fries. The best part is they are really brownies,cupcakes, and sugar cookies!

I just love the real sesame seeds on top.

Would you like fries with that? These thin and crispy sugar cookies were pretty yummy I must say. And you don't have to have a lot to get a taste and satisfy the sweet tooth.

I snagged the little ketchup cups from Burger King, but the rest of the paper cuteness was printed and cut by me.

Pear Gingerbread Upside-down Cake and Volley

Howdy there! So keep meaning to post as things come up but somehow I end up batching everything together all the time. Anywho, here are some pics of a super yummy cake I made quite awhile back. It is super delicious and well the season is brewing for it again so I can't wait :) The original recipe can be found here, but I used pears instead of apples cause that is what I had on hand and welp it was a hit! More pics of food to come as I have been finally going through the camera memory cards!

And in other news...I have been wanting, actually, dying to knit finally, but I played in this Volley tournament a few weeks back and it rendered me useless. Still after a long day at work my right arm goes dead and shakes, I must have really hit a nerve since we were playing Ecuadorian style using a soccer ball and super high net, ouch! I will practice ahead next time so I can play better for one, and recover for two, cause yes it is worth doing again even if I can't knit yet, as it was so much fun!

First Fine Arts & Craft Sale

So I did a little craft fair and sold my soaps for the first time this past weekend. It was fun! And was also fun making all the soap before hand. It looks soooo cute when you have a bunch of strawberry cheesecakes and cookies all together :) Plus the kitchen was all full of good smells as if I were baking but nothing fattening here. Phew!

In the end I also made up lots of labels and business cards and put up a little web page. I will be updating it at some point with individual pics of all the types of soap I make, but for now it is a holder and a way to contact me if you want to place an order or what not. Anywho I am so far loving making soap even though I ran out of time to make my whipped shea butter and lip balms I will still be doing it at some point. yay soap! (p.s. I do still knit, see the little face cloths under some of the soap?)

I have been a long time gone here. But up to the same old projects here and there and have lots of pics I never seem to upload. Mainly I have been watching me a lot of olympics lately and knitting a giant scarf while doing so. Am hoping to finish the scarf during the olympics so that I don't let it fall to the wayside and have another unfinished item on my hands :) Here's hoping...
